Obama Administration Ordering FCC To Investigate Local Media

A few sneaky liberals in Sacramento have already begun their assault on free speech at the behest of the Obama administration. On April 2, 2009, California Common Cause is hosting a "discussion" at the Coloma Community Center about the local media and how effective it "communicates" with listeners, readers and viewers. The meeting will be recorded and a copy sent to the Federal Communication Commission... right back to the Presidential administration who requested it take place.

The FCC is proposing to require media to create "community advisory boards" to "advise local broadcasters."

Every reporter, talk show host, blogger, writer, reader, viewer and news junkie in Sacramento should be at this meeting. This is a backdoor attempt at the Fairness Doctrine.

Let's talk more about it...

UPDATE: A good friend sent this letter to the Sacramento Bee editor:

I read of a planned “Community Discussion on Local Media” sponsored by the California Common Cause and Access Sacramento organizations which scares me. It stated: “The new presidential administration wants to create a more democratic media and promote universal access to communications technologies.” Now proposed by the Federal Communications Commission is establishment of federal policies community advisory boards to local broadcasters. It seems the underlying federal administrative intent is to create advisory boards to control all types of media. This is a knife aimed at the heart of the First Amendment. Government does not belong in the business of advising the media.

An element of control of a nation’s people under any dictatorship, as displayed in The Bee’s Parade Article covering “The Worlds 10 Worst Dictators”, is control of the media. I worked for six years in Venezuela, then controlled by the dictator Marco Perez Jimenez, who was deposed in 1958 by revolution. A Democracy was formed, which Hugo Chevez, the Socialist, is now out to destroy. We Americans must not be led down that path. If we lose our First Amendment rights, and Second Amendment rights also under siege, we may lose our Democracy as well.

I doubt that The Bee will print it, but they should -  for their own well-being.
